Diamond Supply Co. Recycled Skateboard Sunglasses
Inspired by the work of Japanese artist HAROSHI, who creates sculptures from old skateboard decks pressed together, skate apparel label Diamond Supply Co. have released a pair of glasses with the frames produced in the same manner. The sunglasses first premiered at the Agenda tradeshow in California and will no doubt be released shortly!
Water Light Graffiti by Antonin Fourneau
I try to refrain from posting content that I’ve seen on Colossal because it seems to be the main source for many people on tumblr. However, when Chris posts something to do with Interactive Design I really can’t help myself, this is just outstanding.
This wall is created out of thousands of LED’s that are illuminated when they come in contact with water. It means you can effectively turn a water pistol in to a spray can, or even just wet your fingertips and draw with your hands. The overall effect is wonderful and I’d love to see this in person.
Must Watch:
…simply stunning.
wowza this is cool
Hideyuki Nakayama teamed up with UNION, a manufacturer of door handles and levers, to create a glass globe doorknob. As you approach the doorknob you catch a glimpse of what appears to be another world, waiting for you to enter and join, but in fact is a reflection of the room on the other side of the door.
WOOOH
I REALLY WANT ONE
“Designers should contemplate the void that surrounds objects, the space between objects, and the relation between those objects. I believe furniture - chairs, tables, lights etc. - could be like a constellation of stars, and we could make lines to connect them three-dimensionally and thereby construct a specific story, As a designer, I believe it is a task to create the stories. To realize the concept effectively, I try to create a maximum impact with minimum use of material.”
Warped Architecture by Victor Enrich
By combining 3D rendering and over a decade of work in professional architectural visualisation, Victor Enrich is able to create wonderful works of art where buildings spill out into streets and extrude their features in all directions. Although impossible the incredible attention to detail makes them almost seem plausible no matter how warped and ridiculous they may become.
